Aston Villa vs Manchester United: Premier League Prediction Panel 2008/9 - preview and predictions

Bookmark and Share

The evening kick-off between Aston Villa and Manchester United was set up beautifully by Aston Villa's win at Arsenal last week. Now there are three teams fighting it out for two Champions' League places, even if most pundits firmly believe that United will move on to challenge the top two. Villa can go third with a win and after the display of counter-attacking from last week there is every possibility against a depleted United line-up. But if Agbonlahor is tired after his exertions of Arsenal and Germany then the attacking options may be more prosaic.

United are missing so many players that the traditional assumption that it will see off Villa has been undermined. United has beaten no other side more often than Villa since 1992 and that confidence could see them through.

This promises to be tight, United will probably start as favourites - however unjust that is.
