Wolverhampton Wanderers v Arsenal: Gunners have the leaders in their sights

Both Wolves and Arsenal go into today’s game full of confidence after morale-boosting results last weekend. While Wenger’s men were tearing their north London rivals Spurs apart at the Emirates, Wolves showed their true grit and determination against Staffordshire foes Stoke City, coming from two goals down to salvage a share of the spoils. Unfortunately for Wolves, Arsenal are serious title challengers this season and won’t be making a habit of dropping points on the road like they did against West Ham.

Arsenal will be without the injured Gael Clichy and Nicklas Bendtner but Denilson and Theo Walcott are expected to be in the squad. Wolves have been stunned by the news that Iwelumo has injured his foot again but Ebanks-Blake and Milijas look to feature for McCarthy’s men.

Wolves haven’t beaten the Gunners in the league for 30 years and their home displays have only produced one win. Arsenal are the form team in the Premier League, scoring goals for fun, from all areas of the pitch, and will climb into second place ahead of United, who play Chelsea tomorrow, with victory at Molineux. Wolves could slip into the bottom three if they do go down at home. Unsurprisingly, nobody in the Panel gives Wolves a hope in hell.
