Everton v Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs plan another Blue day for the Toffees

Bookmark and Share

Everton have managed to hold Spurs to goalless draws in their past two visits to Goodison Park but Tottenham’s current run of form combined with Everton’s horrendous luck with injury and poor form points to an away win this afternoon.

Spurs dropped to fourth in the table yesterday as Arsenal disposed of Stoke City but victory on Merseyside will see them leapfrog their north London rivals and put them just seven points behind leaders Chelsea. Redknapp’s men have a great record at Goodison as well. They have won seven of their 17 visits, losing just two, and Redknapp will be keen on improving that stat.

Everton have won just two of their previous 12 league and cup games this season, which includes a 2-0 defeat in the Carling Cup by Spurs in October, and haven’t won at Goodison in any competition since September. The Toffees are just two points off the drop zone and it doesn’t get any easier for Moyes’s men as they travel to the leaders Chelsea next weekend before hosting a rejuvenated Birmingham City.

The Merseyside giants have lost their last three league games. They haven’t lost four-in-a-row since 2005. Unfortunately, for the Toffees, the majority of the Panel believes they will equal that stat as Spurs enter the game as hot favourites for all three points.
