Wolverhampton Wanderers v Sunderland: Points could go either way

Bookmark and Share

Both Wolves and Sunderland will look forward to reacquainting themselves with their fierce rivals next season as West Brom and Newcastle return to the top flight but before that Mick McCarthy will try to get one over on his former side.

The two sides played out a seven-goal thriller in September but I can’t see a repeat of that scoreline at Molineux today, especially as their previous three meetings have ended in 1-1 draws and Wolves have only scored 11 at home all season.

Sunderland recorded only their second away win of the season last time out against Hull City and will be eager to make it a hat-trick here today. However, their last win at Molineux came 12 years ago and Wolves have only lost to Wigan Athletic, Chelsea and Manchester United at home in 2010. The result could go either way.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Sunderland; Kick Off 4pm 09 May 2010
