Unofficial World Cup 2010 Songs #14 - England - Rockin' Jonny Austin - Victory Day

Bookmark and Share

A rocking song with a hyperactive sexagenarian singer may not be the most obvious combination for an England song; but this one ticks all the boxes. It is at heart a decent singalong with an England theme, which is no bad thing. Not my favourite England song to date - but certainly one of the better ones. As Dave Denny (who suggested we review this one) put it: "priceless eccentric passion".

Band: Rockin' Jonny Austin
Song: Victory Day
Best Line: We want that crown, we know Alf Ramsey is looking down.

*Do you like this song? Are there any other World Cup songs we should look at - from England or any other country? Let us know!
