Arsenal v Blackpool: Gunners ready to shoot down Ollie’s Army

Bookmark and Share

Who’d have thought that Blackpool would be going into this game not only above Arsenal in the table but only being kept off the top spot by the champions Chelsea? Everything Ian Holloway’s men touched last weekend went in as they blitzed the hapless Wigan Athletic and they will be hoping Lady Luck is on their side again when they enter the Emirates.

Arsenal were literally handed a share of the points by Pepe Reina at Anfield on Sunday but Arsene Wenger knows that if they are to have any chance of ending their trophy drought then they have to be making mince meat out of teams like the Tangerines.

There have not been too many meetings between the two sides over the past 40 years and Blackpool’s last win at Arsenal was 4-1 back in 1958. If Holloway can inspire the Seasiders to victory this weekend he will be given the freedom of the city. Unfortunately most of the Panel members see this only going one way, Wenger’s way.
