Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers: Away day pain again for Sam?
Birmingham City showed their resolve on the opening day of the season by coming back from two down at Sunderland to earn a draw. This weekend they entertain a Blackburn Rovers side that shocked most pundits by beating David Moyes’s Everton at Ewood Park.
Sam Allardyce’s men do not have the best record in the world away from Lancashire and their recent history at St Andrews doesn’t fill the fans with much confidence either. They have only recorded four wins at Birmingham since 1953 – their last triumph coming in an emphatic 4-0 win seven years ago.
Rovers won just three times on the road last season while Birmingham only lost twice at home. There has only ever been one goalless draw between the two sides and we’re all expecting that run to continue this weekend.
Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers; Kick off 3pm 21 Aug 2010
