Loss of Schwarzer for Fulham points to Bolton win

Bookmark and Share

With the team news now in it seems that Mark Schwarzer may be on the verge of a switch to Arsenal as he is not in the Fulham match day squad for the game at Bolton. David Stockdale is in goal with Pascal Zuberbuhler on the bench.

Interestingly with Shay Given on the bench for Man City today, Arsene Wenger may be tempted to move for the Irishman although surely Mark Hughes will attempt to sign Shay Given as he did when he was Manchester City manager.

Stockdale has played only one league game for Fulham since signing from Darlington in 2008 with loan spells at Rotherham, Leicester and Plymouth keeping him busy in the meantime. To step into the opening fixture of the season as the new number one will not be easy.

Despite Owen Coyle's promise to make Bolton a more footballing side, there is little doubt that Davies and Elmander will look to intimidate the 24 year old 'keeper on the opening day and this coupled with the upward trend in Bolton's form under the former Burnley manager does point to a Bolton win.

Prediction: 2-0 Bolton win.

A Bolton 2-0 win is currently 9/1 with Bet365, and a 2-0 win coupled with Kevin Davies scoring one of those two goals is 22/1.

Bet365 are offering £200 in free bets for new customers - see their website for details.
