Stoke City v Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs fancied to beat the Potters

Bookmark and Share

Not too many teams have left the Britannia Stadium with maximum points over the past two years but Spurs are one of them and Harry Redknapp will be looking to leave the Potteries with all three points again this weekend.

Spurs will count themselves fortunate to still be in contention for a place in the Champions League proper after their first half horror show against Young Boys and it will be interesting to see what sort of side Redknapp puts out against Stoke. He knows he needs the points after last weekend’s goalless affair with Manchester City, but he will also want his star names fresh for Tuesday night.

Stoke City lost their opening day fixture at Wolves and almost lost their record signing Kenwyne Jones to injury. However, the former Sunderland striker is raring to be in the squad for Saturday and his presence and strength will be vital if Stoke are to get anything out of the game.

The visitors will be in for a tough afternoon but the majority of the Panel sees them leaving with a win under their belts.
