Manchester City v Stoke City: FA Cup winners have eyes firmly on third

Bookmark and Share

Manchester City beat Stoke to lift the FA Cup on Saturday. Tonight they have the chance to overtake Arsenal into third place and avoid a Champions League qualifier. It doesn’t get any better than this for City fans, well, not until next season any way!

Stoke City held out for as long as possible at Wembley but they were not at their usual threatening best. It didn’t help that key players – Etherington, Huth and Pennant – were either not fully fit or picked up injuries, but they can hold their heads proud at their achievements. After all they will be playing in Europe next season and who would have predicted that at the start of the campaign?

Manchester City are a formidable outfit at Eastlands. You’re more likely to get money from an Aberdonian than you are of leaving the blue half of Manchester with a point. And that’s exactly the way the Panel sees this going.
