Predict the Premier League: Stoke start 2012 at the top

Bookmark and Share

Stoke City's Phil Eccelston has led the way in the Predict the Premier League table for most of the season and he cemented his place at the top with a great period over Christmas and New Year.

The passionate Potter scored a fantastic total of 26 to extend his lead in the title race to 22 points, but Manchester United's Peter Lee has been in good form over the past few weeks and has now climbed up to second. Could the Red Devil hit a purple patch and put the Potter under severe pressure?

Arsenal's Don McMahon remains at the foot of the table and is the only pundit here and from the Experts section left to pass the 100 point barrier. Keeping him company in the bottom three is Chelsea's Joe Tyler and West Brom's Andy Wakeman, although the Albion fan is only 10 points from a place in mid-table.

The Premier League prodcued a number of Christmas crackers and huge upsets over the festive period with the leaders Manchester City, champions Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all losing winnable games. Those results cost our pundits vital points but there were still a number of points to pick up.

With Stoke City up to eighth in the Premier League table, Phil Eccleston topping this competition and three of the world's greatest darts players hailing from the city, 2012 looks like it could be another one to remember for Stokies.

Here is a break down of who scored what from Boxing Day to January 5

Below is how the overall table currently looks.
