Stoke City v West Brom: Will the Baggies break their barren run against Stoke?

Bookmark and Share

Stoke v West Brom

West Brom have failed to beat Stoke City on their 10 previous meetings and the Baggies haven't won on Potters' soil for 30 years. With Roy Hodgson still searching for his first league win of 2012, I think we all know where the points are headed here.

Stoke City have definitely got the measure of West Brom. Earlier this season Ryan Shotton scored at The Hawthorns late on to deny the Baggies their first point of the season. The goal, which came from a defensive mix up, summed up Albion's start to the campaign. Hodgson's men have since gone on to better things and a win this weekend just wouldn't be a miracle, it would send them back into mid-table.

The Potters have lost only once in the league since sensationally losing to QPR at the Britannia in November and will be buoyed following their draw at Anfield last weekend. They start the weekend five points behind Liverpool and who's to say that the Potters couldn't enter the mix for a Champions League place? If they can continue in this run of form anything is possible from Tony Pulis.

Can the Baggies break their barren run against Stoke this weekend? They have definitely played better on the road this season but our pundits believe Stoke will be too strong for them.
