Liverpool v Fulham: Dalglish plans to do an Everton on Fulham

Bookmark and Share

Liverpool's Luis Suarez was on top form against Norwich City at the weekend, scoring a sublime hat-trick at Carrow Road. Tonight Kenny Dalglish's men are back at Anfield and desperate to end their troubles at home.

Anfield was once a place that sent shivers down the spine of opponents. The passion and noise from the Kop put the fear of God into visitors. Not any more. Liverpool have recorded only five wins at home all season. Only Wolves, Bolton, Aston Villa and Wigan have won fewer home games. The Reds may have only lost three - including the recent defeat by West Brom - but the likes of Stoke City, Blackburn, Norwich and Swansea have all left Merseyside with a share of the spoils.

Liverpool will have one eye on Saturday's FA Cup final with Chelsea, and there are still places up for grabs, but will Dalglish be tempted to rest some of his first team starters with Wembley just days away?

Fulham will be glad to see the back of Liverpool. On Saturday they were thrashed 4-0 across Stanley Park and Martin Jol's men have never beaten Liverpool at Anfield. However, given the way this season has gone, that statistic could be thrown out with the garbage this time tomorrow.

This will be the Cottagers 53rd game of the season and you can forgive them for feeling the effects following such a long and arduous campaign. But if you can't raise your game for playing at Anfield then there is something wrong. In saying that though, Fulham have failed to score in their past five visits to Anfield and have only scored 11 goals on their travels all season.

Both sides go into the game having won three of their last five outings, but who will come away with all three points tonight? Our pundits believe it will be a good day for Liverpool.
