Predict the Premier League: Blackpool clinch the title
Blackpool fan Phil Trow will be cracking open the Champagne today. The Seasider has secured the Predict the Premier League Experts' title. Mr Trow has been the man to beat for most of the season, but Sunday's thrilling final day ensured the title was heading to Bloomfield Road.
It is part one of what Mr Trow hopes will be a double celebration as Blackpool could make an immediate return to the top flight on Saturday when they entertain West Ham United in the play-off final at Wembley.
Portsmouth's Peter Rendle pushed Blackpool all the way, ending the season just six points behind the leader. Birmingham City fan Steve Coulter finished third, just one point ahead of Squarefootball's Football League expert Hugh Larkin, who in turn was only a point in front of our TV critic Chris Pettitt.
At the foot of the table, Aston Villa's Lynette Ranson, Squarefootball editor Antony Melvin and Rochdale's Matt Turner are down but Middlesbrough's Sue Gardener failed to break through the 200-point mark.
West Ham's Matt Beeby was the top Hammer, finishing four points ahead of Mitch Waddon and 16 clear of Nigel Telfer. Mr Beeby would also like me to point out that overall he predicted more results right than the leader. Unfortunately, his failure to predict the scores spot on cost him a shot at the title. He'll be hoping his heroes can do the business on Saturday against Blackpool.
Here is how the final table looks.
