Wolves v Everton: Can Wolves finally win a game for Terry Connor?

Bookmark and Share

Wolves showed some spirit last weekend away at Swansea City. Three down within a matter of minutes, it looked as though Terry Connor's men were going to be on the receiving end of a cricket score. However, they came back to gain a point in a remarkable 4-4 draw. Today they host an Everton side that has seventh place in their sights. Can Wolves finally win a game for Terry Connor?

Everton have been on an awesome run since the turn of the year. They put four past Fulham without reply last weekend and gained a point from Stoke in midweek. David Moyes's men are desperate to finish above their Merseyside rivals and a win here will all but seal that.

The Toffees have only lost to Wolves once in the Premier League era. That was at Molineux eight years ago thanks to a late Carl Cort winner. Other than that, Everton have recorded three wins and three draws, but with Jelavic in fine form and Wolves' defence about as steady as the current Coalition Government, I can't see anything other than an Everton win here.

However, the Wolves players have come out in support of Terry Connor this week pleading with the board to give him a chance in the Championship next season. Unfortunately their results under Connor suggest that would be a terrible decision. Unless they can spring a shock win over Everton this afternoon I'd be hugely surprised to see Connor in the hot seat come August. But we've had West Brom and Fulham winning at Anfield, Blackburn Rovers winning at Old Trafford and Wigan beating anyone and everyone recently. What's to say Wolves can't beat Everton?
