Who will win the Premier League title?
Manchester City won the Premier League title in sensational fashion in May. Sergio Aguero came to City's rescue with a last-gasp winner which sealed their first league title for years. But who will win the title this season?
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been active in the transfer window so far, but Squarefootball's Adam Crawford can only see one potential winner.
"City are defending Champions and therefore they know what it takes to win the title. It is also my belief that this will give their players incredible confidence for the coming season.
"Furthermore I do not believe that other teams have strengthened significantly enough to put up a big enough challenge. Firstly let’s start with the signings of their fiercest rivals Manchester United. So far they have signed Shinji Kagawa from Broussia Dortmund and Nick Powell from Crewe Alexandra. Are they really the type of signings that are going to make a difference? To put it simply, no.
"However, if rumours are to be believed that they are going to sign Arsenal's Robin Van Persie it could be a whole new ball game as a striking partnership of Rooney and Van Persie would strike fear into the opposing defences and fire a real signal of intent proving that Sir Alex means business. Add to this the return of Vidic from injury and suddenly it will be a whole new ball game. (Forgive the clichés).
"So now onto the European Champions Chelsea (that hurts). Do they have a realistic chance of winning the league? Well as a Spurs supporter I would say no. You must be mad I hear you cry? Well to be honest although I acknowledge that they have signed a lot of quality players in the likes of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Oscar I do wonder how they are going to adapt to the pace and physicality of the Barclay’s Premier League. Also you cannot help but think how Di Matteo is going to fit all these players into his team not to mention the likes of Frank Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Michael Essien, Raul Meireles and Florent Malouda.
"It has come to my attention that they have had a horrid pre-season in which they have lost to the likes of AC Milan, Paris Saint Germain and most worrying of all Brighton. I am not saying that they will play as badly as this in the season ahead put it should be of concern to Di Matteo.
"However if these players are able to adapt and Di Matteo keeps all the players happy you would be silly to right them off and therefore they are my dark horses for the league."
Calling all football fans: Who do you think will win the title this season? Will City retain the trophy or will United or Chelsea get their hands on it? What about Arsenal? Can they stun the pundits by ending their trophy drought? Whatever your views, we'd love to hear from you.
