West Bromwich Albion v Liverpool: Will Clarke or Rodgers start with a win?

West brom v Liverpool

Two clubs with new managers clash at the Hawthorns this weekend but will Steve Clarke come out on top against his former employers or will Brendan Rodgers get his era at Anfield off to a winning start?

The Baggies have only triumphed once in the past three decades at home against Liverpool. That came courtesy of a penalty brace by Chris Brunt in 2011. The Albion also managed to stun the Kop last season with a shock 1-0 win and Steve Clarke would love to get his reign off to a winning start.

However, Liverpool are a different beast to the one the Scot left behind in May. Brendan Rodgers has come in and will have been implementing his philosophy on to the players. The Reds should be more composed on the ball, keeping it for long periods of time and frustrating the opposition. With the likes of Suarez, Gerrard and Borini, Liverpool carry a real goal threat and they will want to start as they mean to go on.

Panel Verdict

Looks like it could be a winning start for Brendan Rodgers.
