Liverpool v Arsenal: Will Sahin come back to haunt Wenger?

Liverpool v Arsenal

Liverpool managed to offload Andy Carroll on Thursday night but Brendan Rodgers was unable to bring anyone in to replace him. Clint Dempsey was there for the taking, but for whatever reason, Liverpool couldn't complete the deal. This afternoon Liverpool take on an Arsenal side who are still searching for their first goal of the campaign, but will Suarez and Borini ensure it's a fab day for Brendan or could Arsenal's shot-shy strikers finally find the back of the net?

The Gunners haven't lost at Anfield since March 2007 when Peter Crouch bagged a hat-trick and Daniel Agger chipped in with a goal too. Since then the Arsenal have drawn two and won two - including last season's late winner from Robin van Persie. But can Giroud or Podolski step into RVP's boots? That remains the question that needs to be answered.

Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet in their past 12 Premier League matches while Arsenal's rearguard looks solid. Suarez and Borini should pose Arsenal more problems than Sunderland and Stoke did, but this looks like being a tight affair.

Rodgers's side looked great against Manchester City last weekend and only two defensive blunders, capitalised on by the champions, cost them a deserved win.

With Lucas out it looks as though Sahin will be thrown into the first team and show Arsene Wenger, first hand, that he made a huge mistake by not signing him up. Wenger could do without the Turkish international having a blinder.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal are searching for their first win of the season, but where will the points be heading? Our pundits believe this could end up a draw.
