Manchester United v Wigan: Can the Latics stun the Red Devils?

Bookmark and Share

Manchester U v Wigan

Wigan recorded their first ever win over Manchester United last season - a result which ultimately cost them the Premier League crown - but what are the chances of the visitors picking up their first win at Old Trafford this weekend?

With Wayne Rooney on the sidelines, a defensive injury crisis and star signing Robin van Persie a doubt following his international adventures in midweek, Roberto Martinez's side will arrive at the Theatre of Dreams with no fear.

However, Fergie's men are still huge favourites for the win. The fact that Wigan have only scored at Old Trafford once in their entire history probably has something to do with that. A last-minute Leighton Baines penalty in a 3-1 Boxing Day defeat in 2006 is their only highlight.

United have yet to keep a clean sheet this season and Wigan will really fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet. But can they claim all three points? No chance!
