Norwich City: Who will be the Canaries top scorer?

Bookmark and Share

Norwich City made a dreadful start to life under Chris Hughton with an opening day 5-0 thrashing at Fulham. However, the Canaries have kicked on since then with draws against QPR and Spurs and a Capital One Cup victory over Scunthorpe. But who will finish this campaign as the Canaries' top scorer?

Grant Holt was the main man for Norwich last season, notching 15 times in the Premier League and two in the FA Cup. That was seven more than his nearest rival Steve Morison. But Holt has yet to open his account for this campaign.

Simeon Jackson and Robert Snodgrass have scored once each in the league so far with Wesley Hoolahan and Simon Lappin registering in the league cup. But who will end the season as top marksman?

Unsurprisingly the bookies are going with Grant Holt. The former Nottingham Forest and Shrewsbury Town man is 5/4 with both Stan James and Bet Victor and Steve Morison, who has only featured fleetingly so far, is next at 4/1 at Bet Victor.

Promising youngster Harry Kane, who is on loan from Spurs, has yet to kick a ball for the Canaries but is already 8/1 at Stan James. Summer signing Robert Snodgrass, who opened his account with the late equaliser against Spurs, is also at 8/1.

Simeon Jackson who scored the club's first goal of the campaign against QPR is 10/1 at Stan James, followed by James Vaughan at 12/1, even though he is currently on loan at Huddersfield. Anthony Pilkington, who scored eight times last season in the Premier League, is 16/1 at Bet Victor and Chris Martin is 20/1.

Wes Hoolahan is 33/1 with Andrew Surman and Jonny Howson back at 50/1, with Bradley Johnson at 66/1. Everyone else is 100/1 or more.

So come on Norwich fans. Who is your money on? We'd love to hear from you.
