Southampton v Aston Villa: Can the Saints register their first points of the season?
Southampton were given a right hiding at the Emirates last weekend. This Saturday they host an Aston Villa side who, whisper it, may be turning the corner. But will it be the Saints who finally get some points on the board or will Villa's revolution continue?
The bad news for Nigel Adkins' men is that the Villains have quite a decent record on the south coast. Although they haven't met since 2005, Villa won two and drew two of their previous four meetings. The Saints' last home win over Villa came at the Dell in 2000, courtesy of a quick brace from James Beattie.
Despite everything he has done for the Saints, pressure is mounting on Nigel Adkins. A win or a draw would go some way to proving to those above that he is still the right man for the job. What he doesn't need is for Darren Bent to find his scoring boots and for Villa to go goal crazy.
Who will emerge victorious? Our pundits are not sure.
