Spurs v QPR: Can the R's put the heat on AVB?

Bookmark and Share

Spurs v qpr

Andre Villas-Boas picked up his first win as Spurs boss last Sunday away at Reading and it was nothing less than they deserved. They bossed the first-half and Jermain Defoe ran the Reading defence ragged. The England striker was unfortunate not to take home the match ball after a great display.

This afternoon Spurs face a QPR side who last week held the champions of Europe Chelsea to a goalless draw. Mark Hughes will have taken great confidence from that highly charged game and will be hoping to go one better this afternoon and actually record their first win of the season.

This is one of the most tightly contested games of the weekend. They two sides have met 10 times in the Premier League and both Spurs and QPR have won four each. Spurs ran out 3-1 winners at the Lane last season as Gareth Bale (2) and Van der Vaart gave them the points, but the R's beat them at Loftus Road through Adel Taarabt.

QPR's last win at the Lane came in May 1994, thanks to a brace from Trevor Sinclair. Will Zamora and co pile turn the heat back on AVB or will the former Chelsea boss make it two league wins on the trot? Our pundits think it will be the latter.
