Arsenal v QPR: Can the R's do a Norwich and beat the Gunners?
Arsenal were simply terrible last weekend as they lost to Norwich City. There was no drive, no inventive and no passion as they were outplayed, outmuscled and outfought by a determined Norwich side. And it was a similar performance in midweek against Schalke. The Canaries recorded their first win of the season, but can Mark Hughes register his first victory of this campaign and pile more misery on Arsene Wenger's door?
The Gunners are unbeaten at home this season but QPR have always been tricky customers for the men from north London. Last season Arsenal only squeezed past them 1-0 at the Emirates and lost 2-1 at Loftus Road so I wouldn't be expecting a glut of goals this weekend.
QPR looked dangerous against Everton on Sunday and should have made their numerical advantage pay dividends. Unfortunately, Tim Howard and Phil Jagielka were determined not to let QPR find a winner.
Arsenal simply have to win this game if they are to have any hope of being involved in the title race this season. They are already 10 points behind the leaders Chelsea and face Manchester United next weekend. Wenger needs to get the Gunners back to basics in terms of defending and hope the likes of Walcott and Gervinho can develop a first touch in the mean time.
Wenger and Hughes are under pressure to win this weekend, but who will be celebrating come the final whistle?
