Chelsea v Norwich City: Can the Canaries escape another thrashing?

Bookmark and Share

Chelsea v Norwich

Norwich City conceded five goals for the second game this season last weekend at home to Liverpool. And if they thought that was bad, this weekend they travel to the home of the free-scoring leaders Chelsea. So can Chris Hughton's men avoid another thrashing?

It doesn't look good for the Canaries. Although games between the two sides have been few and far between in recent years, you have to go back to 1993 for the last time Norwich left the Bridge victorious. That was courtesy of Ruel Fox and Chris Sutton. Since then the Bridge has been a venue of pain for the men from Carrow Road.

Chelsea emerged unscathed from their toughest test of the season so far when they beat Arsenal last weekend and Roberto Di Matteo's men are clear favourites for the win here. With the likes of Hazard, Torres, Mata and Oscar, Chelsea can create chances at will.

Norwich went down 3-1 in this fixture last season. There are fears that it could be a lot worse this time round.
