Liverpool v Stoke City: Can Owen score in front of the Kop again?
Liverpool fans must have thought their season was finally under way last weekend when a five-star Luis Suarez helped rip Norwich apart. Unfortunately they were then beaten at home by Udinese in the Europa League on Thursday night.
So will the Reds win back-to-back league games for the first time since December or will Tony Pulis's Potters frustrate them yet again?
Stoke City took four points off Liverpool in the league last season but Liverpool got revenge by winning both cup clashes. The Potters were one of a number of clubs last year who Liverpool just simply couldn't breach. Dalglish's men created chance after chance but just couldn't find a way past Sorensen.
Liverpool go into today's clash two points behind the Potters but a win for Rodgers' men will see them swap places.
Anfield will also welcome three former players today, Charlie Adam, Peter Crouch and Michael Owen, although I'm not so sure Owen will be given a warm reception following his most recent spell at Manchester United. The diminutive striker hasn't found the back of the net yet for the Potters but what are the chances of him netting in front of the Kop once more? Possibly, but our pundits only see one winner.
Liverpool v Stoke City; Kick Off 3pm October 7 2012
