Southampton v Fulham: Can Fulham create history at St Mary's?

Bookmark and Share

Southampton v Fulham

Southampton can climb out of the bottom three this afternoon with victory over Martin Jol's Fulham and the omens look good for the Saints.

Fulham do not like playing at Southampton and looking through the history books it's easy to see why. The Cottagers have only left the south coast once with all three points and that was back in 1935! That will be music to the ears of Nigel Adkins and the home fans.

Southampton won their first game of the season a fortnight ago against Aston Villa and took the lead against high-flying Everton last weekend. Everyone knows the Saints have goals in them, but can they stop Berbatov and co from finding the net?

Fulham could move into the top six with a win, but can Martin Jol create his own piece of history by leaving the south coast victorious?

The last meeting between the two at St Mary's ended all square in a six-goal thriller. How will this one end up? Our pundits have their say.
