Stoke v Sunderland: Can Pulis work his magic on the Black Cats?

Stoke v Sunderland

Stoke City were unfortunate not to leave Old Trafford without something to show for their endeavour last weekend. The Potters really took the game to Manchester United and made Fergie's men work for the points. However, that performance will have given them great belief ahead of the visit of Sunderland.

The Black Cats came from behind to draw with rivals Newcastle last Sunday but the natives are getting restless. Demba Ba's own goal means he is Sunderland's second top goalscorer behind Steven Fletcher. If Stoke can keep the Scot quiet then they have a great chance of picking up all three points here.

The visitors won their first meeting at Stoke City for eight years last season when James McClean grabbed the only goal of the game after Robert Huth had been sent off. O'Neill's men have now won three of their last four meetings with Stoke but the Potters have goals throughout the team.

The last six meetings between the two at the Britannia have all been decided by a single goal, so this will be a tight affair. Who will emerge victorious though?
