Swansea v Wigan: Will Martinez get the better of Laudrup?

Bookmark and Share

Swansea v Wigan

Twelve years ago this was a fixture befitting League Two. This afternoon the two sides clash in the top flight for only the third time in their history and both managers will be desperate to get the win.

Michael Laudrup made an excellent start to life in the Premeir League, but you have to go back to August for the last time they recorded a win in the league. It's the same story for Wigan and Roberto Martinez would love to get one over his former boyos.

Swansea finally found their scoring boots last time out at home to Reading. It ended three Premier League games without a goal and Laudrup will be praying Michu and co will be on top form in front of goal this afternoon.

Victory for the Swans today will see them climb back into the top half of the table. Defeat though will see Wigan draw level with them on eight points.

Last season the two sides played out an action-packed goalless draw at the Liberty Stadium. Today we are hoping for the same amount of incident, but a few more goals to boot.

Swansea City v Wigan Athletic; Kick Off 3pm October 20 2012
