Aston Villa v Wigan Athletic: Can Kone and Di Santo punish the desolate Villans?
A fortnight ago Aston Villa went to Anfield and tore Liverpool apart in a convincing 3-1 win. After that success most pundits accepted that Villa would be safe, however that talk has proved to be a bit premature. Heavy defeats by Chelsea and Spurs have placed Villa right back in the thick of things.
And just when Paul Lambert thought things couldn't get any worse, their most recent bogey side Wigan Athletic roll up at Villa Park.
The Latics are currently in the bottom three and were unfortunate not to leave Goodison with at least a point on Boxing Day. They are only three points behind their hosts and Villa's dreadful goal difference means they will slip below Wigan if they lose today.
Villa recorded their first league win over Wigan at home last season, courtesy of goals from Agbonlahor and Bent. But can Paul Lambert's men end 2012 on a high on will it be Wigan celebrating come the full-time whistle? Our pundits have their say.
Aston Villa v Wigan; Kick Off 3pm December 29 2012
