Newcastle United v QPR: Can Redknapp plunge Pardew into real trouble?

Bookmark and Share

Newcastle v QPR

QPR won their first league game of the season last weekend against rivals Fulham to lift the R's off the foot of the table. Today they take on a struggling Newcastle side who, like Rangers, cancelled Christmas for their players and staff and are just two points off the drop zone themselves.

Adel Taarabt was the star man for Harry Redknapp last weekend and everyone in a hooped shirt will be praying he can turn on the goods again here. It will need something special for Rangers to beat Newcastle at St James' Park, as they have only left the north east once in the Premier League with all three points.

Newcastle United have had a woeful start to this season. They only have four wins to their name and relegation is a real possibility. Their last home win came against Wigan but they know they have to rectify that soon or they face the humiliation of possibly being below Sunderland at Christmas.

A win for the visitors will move them to within two points of safety and just four points behind today's hosts. However, a win for Newcastle would allow the fans to enjoy the festivities and give Harry Redknapp and co more to think about.

Who will come out on top? Our pundits have their say.
