Reading v Arsenal: Can the Royals finally get something from Arsenal?
Reading have never got the better of Arsenal. In fact, they have never even taken a point off the Gunners. But amazing things happen around Christmas time. Can Brian McDermott rewrite the history books and give the Royals' survival hopes a huge boost? It doesn't look like it.
Arsenal have been very hit and miss this season and were knocked out of the Capital One cup by League Two Bradford City. In all fairness, Reading should have knocked them out in the previous round. How they let a 4-0 lead slip I will never know.
Arsene Wenger has had it from all angles over the past week but he refuses to walk away. He believes in his players and his philosophy and will remain at Arsenal until he's told he's not wanted. That may not be what certain sections of the fans want to hear but victory tonight will keep them quiet until the next defeat.
The Gunners have won only twice on the road this season but Reading have only picked up one win bonus during the whole campaign. Putting everything into perspective it looks like an away win all day long, but there have been some shocking results this season. Could the Gunners be on the receiving end of another huge upset?
Reading v Arsenal; Kick Off 8pm December 17 2012
