Arsenal: Who would be your dream deadline day signing?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been linked with more men this month than Jordan, Kerry Katona and Imogen Thomas put together, but the chances of the Frenchman actually adding to his squad looks more remote by the minute.

WengerWenger has tried to whet the appetite of the fans by talking up moves for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani and Spanish marksman David Villa.

The Gunners have also been rumoured to be interested in Manchester United winger Nani, Aston Villa's Christian Benteke, Wigan playmaker James McCarthy, West Ham's all-action midfielder Diame, Celtic's powerhouse Victor Wanyama and Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic. They have even been linked with QPR's world class Brazilian shot stopper Julio Cesar. But alas, as we brave the final few hours of the transfer window, Arsene Wenger has yet to whip out his chequebook.

So, the question to you my Arsenal friends is this; who would your dream deadline day signing be and why?

You can only choose one - safe in the knowledge that the chances of Wenger clinching that deal are as remote as Tottenham's hopes of winning the FA Cup this season.

So who will it be? Would it be David Villa to give you extra bite in attack? What about a tough tackling midfielder like Diame or Wanyama? Or how about a new defender to replace Mertesacker or another keeper to give Szczesny some proper competition?

The choice is all yours (and hopefully Wenger will be reading!)
