Liverpool v Spurs: Reds eye top spot

Bookmark and Share

Liverpool fans could not have dreamt of a better Saturday afternoon had they tried. League leaders Chelsea fell at lowly Crystal Palace while third placed Manchester City drew away at fourth placed Arsenal.

Those results mean victory this afternoon over Tottenham Hotspur will see the Reds lead the title race with just six games left to play. A position not even Steven Gerrard would have predicted at the start of the season.

Suarez and Sturridge are blitzing their way through the opposition and nobody can stop their speed, guile and trickery.

Today it's Tottenham's turn to try and snuff out the Reds but they have fallen out of the running for the top four and Tim Sherwood's chances of landing the manager's job on a permanent basis look bleak.

But can they give their faint hopes a huge boost in a weekend of huge twists and turns?
